You can save money on your chicken watering bill and conserve water by using poultry nipples and poultry drinker cups but there are risks involved. You can easily build a watering system for your chickens using poultry nipples and pvc pipe or you can easily attach them to the bottom of a bucket.  Simply run the water lines using pvc pipe, connect nipples where you need them (most commercial poutry farms use this method for meat birds and baby chicks) and connect the pvc pipe to a water faucet with a water pressure regulator.
​This makes watering your chickens much easier and uses much less water thereby reducing your water bill. It is a good idea to use poultry water cups with poultry nipples because poultry nipples can start leaking  and if the water supply is from a bucket or barrel the entire amount of water could leak into the coop or brooder which could leave your chickens with no water and on a hot day this could be fatal. Wet bedding caused from leaks can make chickens sick and in a brooder can cause baby chicks to die before you realize there is a faulty nipple. Be sure to inspect poultry nipples and automatic poultry cups daily for signs of wear, dripping, or breakage.
