After culling one hen named Miss Fluffy Butt who was egg bound, she found that there was another hen named Buffy who was also egg bound. Desperate to  help this second  hen, she performed a C section on her chicken and Buffy survived. A year after the surgery Buffy is laying eggs and has returned to her flock.
Note: Chicken Heaven On Earth does NOT recommend performing a C section on your hen. If your hen is egg bound you can give her a calcium supplement which will cause her muscles to contract and hopefully she will expel the egg. A warm soak with epsom salt can relieve some of the hens discomfort and reduce the chances of getting fungal bacterial infection. It is best to take your hen to your poultry and livestock veterinarian for any kind of surgeries.
