Chicken eggs that appear cloudy, chalky, lilac colored or have a pinkish tint are usually caused by stress or too much calcium in chicken feed. If you are giving your hens calcium supplements and suddenly you start getting cloudy, lilac, pinkish colored eggs you should stop until egg shells return to normal.
