Barred Cochin are well known for their gregarious personalities (they love attention), and closely resemble their standard sized counterparts in feather coloring. (Barred Rocks) with the exception that the bantam breed has feathered feet and are somewhat friendlier.
Origin:First brought to England by soldiers returning from China in the 1860's and were referred to as Pekin bantams.
Feathers: Heavily feathered
Color: Distinct black and white parallel bars on each feather.
Feet: Feathered feet
Eggs: Small, white or off white in color. Females are good egg setters.
Weight: Females approx. 32 oz./Males approx. 46 oz.
