Chicken Egg Size Determined By Weight
Chicken egg size is determined by weight. When selling your eggs after washing and drying, you need to grade them and determine the size of each egg for packaging. Eggs should be packaged in cartons that say what size egg they are. The following are the six basic USDA recognized sizes for chicken eggs.
Peewee sized chicken egg weight: 15 ounces
Small size chicken egg weight: 18 ounces
Medium size chicken egg weight: 21 ounces
Large size chicken egg weight: 24 ounces
Extra Large size chicken egg weight: 27 ounces
Jumbo size chicken egg weight: 30 ounces
Peewee sized chicken egg weight: 15 ounces
Small size chicken egg weight: 18 ounces
Medium size chicken egg weight: 21 ounces
