Heated Poultry (Chicken) Water Deals
Heated Poultry Fountain
Your chickens cannot drink frozen water. You can prevent water from freezing by keeping your water container inside your coop and away from North side wall or windows. If you do not have electricity running to your coop you can put a hot water bottle or fill a plastic water or soda bottle inside your poultry water container to help prevent water from freezing. Make sure the water is not too hot because hot water can cause damage to your birds gullet if they drink it. Most birds will not drink hot water but some will just start drinking it without checking. If you have electricity you may want to consider getting a heated poultry fountain, a heated pet water bowl, or heated base. Get prepared for the cold months ahead and keep your chickens water from freezing before the temps start dropping! If you do use electrical sources to heat your coop or your chickens water and are using electrical extension cords to run power to their coop be sure to use heavy duty construction cords (the kind used for RV motor homes work best) and use a thermo cube which will turn the cords off if to hot and come back on when the cords cool down or other extension which will shut off if the cords get to hot to prevent fires. Check heated water fountains and heated bases several times a day to make sure they are not melting as there have been customer complaints about this. Using a thermo cube can prevent heated poultry water fountains, pet water containers and heated bases from overheating. See best deals on poultry water heaters below.
