How Hen Saddles Can Protect Your Hens
Hen saddle (Hen Saver aprons) are preventative protection for your lady hens from roosters
Hen Saddles protect your hens' backs from roosters; prevents feather loss from mating, covers feather loss during molting, coverscuts and gashes that can lead to picking, cannibalism and death in both domestic and commercial flocks.
Hen Saddles help wounds to heal
Cover areas of feather loss and wounds to promote healing and re-growth of feathers.
Hen Saddles offer protection from hawks
Hawks are looking for chickens to snatch, kill, and eat. They may not recognize your chickens with a hen saver apron or they may not see them if they are wearing a camouflage apron/saddle. (You can use them on your rooster too)! These aprons provide potential protection against hawks by reducing their ability to grasp or see your chickens.

Important note about Hen saddles: Hen saddles should be kept clean and removed at night to reduce the chances of bacteria buildup, risk of injury and to allow the birds skin to get air. Birds with injuries or bald patches should be quarantined from the flock until they are healed, so other birds do not peck at them.
