Acarids are intestinal parasites which can infest your chickens and turkeys causing illness and even death in severe cases. These worms are highly contagious and are most often contracted from eating infected eggs, eating vegetation near feces of other birds and animals who are infected.
Signs and Symptoms of Ascarid roundworm infestation:
If your chicken or turkey has roundworms you can check underneath their feathers and easily spot them without magnification. They can grow from one to three inches in length.
