Day 3: Blood vessels grow and tail bud develops
Day 4: Limb development begins (wing and leg buds).Brain and eyes begin to develop
Day 5: Limb development continues. Joints at elbows and knees begin
Day 6: Digits form and beak development begins
Day 7: Comb development begins and beak growth continues
Day 8: Feather development begins as feather tracts are formed
Day 9: Mouth opens
Day 10: Claw development begins
Day 11: Tail feathers appear
Day 12: Scales form on feet and legs
Day 13: Eyelids form
Day 14: Head turns toward the large end of the egg
Day 15: Gut draws into abdomen
Day 16: Feathers cover the body
Day 17: Head tucks between legs
Day 18: Embryo fills the available space in the egg and yolk sack is largely absorbed
Day 19: Yolk sack is drawn into the abdomen
Day 20: Internal pip (baby chick starts pecking at the inside of the shell)
Day 21: External pip (baby chick starts pecking through the outer shell) and chick hatches
