The Partridge Cochin Bantam
The Partridge Cochin is a small, feather footed breed of chicken which will make an excellent for a pet backyard chicken or for show. The Partridge Cochin tends to be docile in nature, usually does not mind being gently handled, and from our experience this breed is very intelligent. Male Coloring: The males are very colorful and ornate, proudly displaying saddle and hackle fears which a beautiful bright orange-red, their body is usually greenish-black. Female Coloring The female Partridge Cochin Bantam has a mahogany, glossy looking brown feathers which appear to be pencil outlined in black. Origin: First reported to be seen in England during the 1960's Class: Feather legged bantams Male Mature Weight: 32 oz. Female Mature Weight: 28 oz. Comb Type: Single Broodiness: The Partridge Cochin hens tend to be excellent egg setter's and highly protective mother's over their brood. Egg Color: Brown The lovely yet regal Partridge Bantam is a welcome addition to any flock however they should be kept with bantam breeds only as larger breeds often pick or dominate smaller breeds Due to the fact that they are feather footed you will need to keep their run very clean as they can develop infections in their feet easily from feces build up trapped between the feathers on their toes. Chicken Heaven On Earth Rescue Sanctuary Needs Your Help

We are currently in need of feed, supplies, medical care for rescued chickens, dogs, cats, and other animals at our sanctuary and an expansion so we can purchase a larger farm. Any amount would be greatly appreciated. We don't keep them in tiny cages like most traditional animal shelters do. All of the birds and animals at Chicken Heaven On Earth are free range on almost 2 acres after they are vetted (dewormed, neutered, spayed, or caponized and parasite free) in a farm environment.
